Before we dive into this week's newsletter, we're pleased to let you know that there’s still time to register for this afternoon's HAPPI Hour webinar!
Funded by the Vivensa Foundation, the Amar Bari Amar Jibon research (launched at the House of Lords in February 2026) explores how housing shapes health, wellbeing and identity for older Bangladeshi adults in East London, revealing urgent inequalities and the need for culturally responsive housing.
Join us to hear key findings, lived experiences and policy implications from this landmark study. Drawing on community voices, research partners and practitioners, the session will highlight opportunities for more inclusive housing design and better support for diverse ageing communities.

A big thank you to guest speakers Shaun Carr (Phoenix Community Housing), Helen Puddle (Places for People), and John Glenton (Riverside) for sharing their insights into housing, neighbourhood design and community practice.

This new book by the Manchester Urban Ageing Research Group (MUARG) shares practical lessons on co-producing research in unequal communities, highlighting partnership, trust-building and experimentation as essential ingredients for meaningful, impactful research.
We are pleased to welcome MUARG to our HAPPI Hour webinar on Tuesday, 9 June 2026, the first of our SHAPE Exchange sessions, when we will be exploring ‘Designing homes and communities that reduce isolation and build connection’.
Expert Insights
Taking the time to reflect - finding common threads amongst diverse leadership journeys
In this new Housing LIN guest blog, Megan Coe, Public Health Specialist in Integrated Health and Adult Social Care at the London Borough of Lambeth, reflects on the Housing LIN Future Leaders Programme.
She highlights shared learning across housing and public health, and how diverse leadership journeys showed there is no single formula for becoming an effective leader.
Technology for our ageing community futures: legal perspectives
In a second Housing LIN guest blog, David Hall, Partner in the Technology and Innovation Team at HCR Law, shares insights on enabling older people to choose communities while staying independent.
He explores legal risks around data and digital care technologies, highlighting the importance of contracts, governance and resilience.
Case studies reveal pitfalls from poor consultation and fragile services, while practical approaches show how collaboration and data-sharing can succeed.
