Overview
Housing LIN Cymru held this session in support of Mental Health Awareness Week, exploring the vital relationship between housing and mental health. The webinar examines how well-designed homes, supported housing models, and community-based approaches can foster better mental health outcomes across Wales.
Chaired by Joanne Kirrane, Housing LIN Cymru Steering Group Chair, the session brought together practitioners, policymakers and sector leaders to share insights on prevention, early intervention and the role of secure, suitable housing in promoting resilience and wellbeing.
Building on these themes, and reflecting the findings of CaCHE’s report Housing in Wales: Evidence for Welsh Government 2021–26, the webinar also considers the support landlords (particularly in the private rented sector) need to better understand mental health issues and help tenants access the right support.
