Housing LIN Blogs

Vision 2020 series

The Housing LIN Annual Conference is being held next month in Manchester.

The theme for this year’s sold out conference is Vision 2020, and over the next few weeks we are publishing a new series of guest blogposts outlining the challenges facing the housing with care and specialist housing sectors in the next decade.

The How, What and Why of Leadership

Bruce Moore, Chief Executive of Housing 21, writes for the Housing LIN about defining leadership and how good leadership can be extended to every level of an organisation. He discusses the importance of the authentic self and how the attributes of a ‘good leader’ are almost impossible to pin down.

Vision 2020 For Our Sector

In this guest blog Paul Watson presents a personal reflection on the challenges facing extra care housing in the coming decade.

"As a sector, housing associations have made a tremendous contribution in developing new extra care housing over the last 30 years; now is the time to pinpoint a vision for the next generation of housing association activity"

Unleashing the Digital Premium

This new report by the Good Governance Institute for Legrand Assisted Living and Healthcare calls for immediate action to embrace digital solutions, building on a programme of research and engagement with senior leaders from the health, care, and housing sectors.

Speaking at this week’s launch in the House of Lords, the Housing LIN’s Jeremy Porteus said:

“Going digital is now an essential utility. Just like gas, electricity and water, we need the digital tap turned on.”

Health and Social Care

  • Health Equity In England: The Marmot Review 10 Years On – The Marmot Review 10 Years On builds on the influential 2010 Marmot Review, which looked at the growing health inequalities in England, developed as a result from concerns across both the Labour and Conservative-coalition governments about economic and social inequalities creating widespread health inequality.
  • NHS Clinical Commissioners: Advancing population health management - This report brings together population health management stories from ten different areas of England. Together, they demonstrate the progress that has been already been made in advancing this approach to healthcare, and what more will need to be done.
  • Kent Surrey Sussex Academic Health Science Network: The health of the nation - Following the publication of the APPG for Longevity’s latest report Des Holden, Medical Director at KSS AHSN and Implementation Lead for the Applied Research Collaboration KSS, reflects on the impact of longevity within health and social care.
