The Housing Learning and Improvement Network (Housing LIN) is excited to announce the release of a compelling new animation titled "The Regeneration of Outdated Sheltered Housing", based on insights from the recent All-Party Parliamentary Group on Housing and Care for Older People’s (APPG-HCOP) Inquiry Report, funded by Abbeyfield. Serving as the APPG’s Secretariat and authoring the report, Housing LIN presents this animation to educate and inspire viewers on the past, present, and future of sheltered housing for older adults in the UK.

To accompany the new Housing LIN/Learning Disability England report, LDE has produced two YouTube films that highlight the personal experiences of people interviewed about the housing choices of people with a learning disability and the factors that influence where they want to live and the importance of relationships.

In this film, contributors to our Spotlight on Extra Care series consider the possible future for Extra Care Housing, and outline ways in which the specialist housing market might adapt to our changing society.

This Housing LIN film, part of the 'Spotlight on Extra Care' series, shows that the ECH model has great potential to reduce the pressure on hospitals by offering temporary, supported accommodation that encourages independence and recovery, while also offering patients an experience of an alternative living environment.
