Overview & Agenda
In collaboration with the Dementia & Housing Working Group (DHWG), and to coincide with Dementia Action Week 2025 (opens new window), we were excited to present this webinar as part of the ongoing series hosted by the Housing LIN for the DHWG under the theme of ‘Rising to the Dementia Challenge’.
This session explores innovative approaches to building dementia-friendly communities, with a focus on the latest research surrounding the wellbeing of individuals living with dementia. Key topics include community development, social innovation, and personalised support, alongside a spotlight on a local example of Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) in Gloucestershire.
In addition, we learned about the University of Northumbria’s successful EPSRC bid, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society and partners (the TEDI Project), to examine digital exclusion for people with dementia living across the north east of England. This is followed by a presentation on a study by Bournemouth University to better understand dementia training and awareness of the extra care housing workforce.
