Welcome to TAPPI Cast, our weekly update on the 'Technology for our Ageing Population: Panel for Innovation' (TAPPI) project which aims to improve the way technology is used in housing and care for older people. Includes updates from our 6 Testbeds, Resources and Events of interest.
Updates from our Testbeds:
As part of the TAPPI evaluation process, residents at Llys Y Werin sat down to complete a survey regarding their thoughts and feelings about the project so far and how tech could benefit their lives.
One resident said:
“I now wish I took Lynne (Pobl’s Inclusion & Assistive Technology Officer) up on the offer to be part of TAPPI. What I have seen, been told and involved in, is all good for the future. Technology can give so much, if not for us but those after us.”
As part of the TAPPI project at Dairy View, run by Housing21, residents had a 1:1 session with volunteers from AbilityNet on how to use their tablets and TEC.
Resident Kerri commented:
“I’m really excited to play with and use the tablet!"
The finishing touches are being made to Platform's TAPPI Pop-up Show Apartment at The Heriotts in Droitwich. It's a chance for us to showcase the technology we've tested as part of the project in a real-world context so our customers, colleagues and partners can see it in action.
