On Tuesday, TSA’s event ‘My Home, My Care, My Way - Health, housing and care at the centre of everything we do (opens new window)’ took place in Durham and was attended by 170 delegates. This event explored how technology can truly be integrated into health, housing and social care, including the latest from TAPPI with TAPPI chair, Professor Roy Sandbach, Director of Membership & Consultancy Services at TSA, Nathan Downing and Scottish TAPPI testbed Bield Housing and Care's Chief Executive, Lynne Douglas. You can download the slides here.

Updates from our Testbeds:

We have been receiving great feedback from those who attended the launch of the Bield Tech Hub last week and will be reaching out to partners who expressed an interest in working with us strategically.

In addition, we have had some interest, mainly from local Health & Social Care Partnerships, who want to visit the Bield Tech Hub with their teams.

We are also continuing to install technology into the homes of participants who have agreed to be part of our trial and are monitoring the data from those who had the technology installed at the start of May.

Transforming social care with the right technology (opens new window)

Pressures already in the system, and projections of rising demand for services from an ageing population, means technology will need to play an increasingly important role in helping to expand capacity in the care system to meet these growing challenges. In this blog, Gavin Bashar, UK&I MD at Tunstall Healthcare, discusses how technology can help local authorities and social care providers transform adult social care services.

The Care Technologist Project (opens new window)

An interesting read about the new "Care Technologists" role in Scotland. Their job involves visiting homes to get to know people accessing care and creating digital care plans to help them live well. Find out more here (opens new window).

Digital working in adult social care: What Good Looks Like

A reminder that the Department of Health and Social Care released last week Guidance for care providers and local authorities on What Good Looks Like (WGLL) for digital working in adult social care as part of their work to achieve their ambitions for digital transformation as set out in People at the Heart of Care.
