All TAPPI partners are gearing up for next week’s ITEC23 (opens new window) - TSA’s annual conference. Starting on Monday, 27th March, this two-day event that will bring together leaders in the TEC field to explore how collaborative working, integration, and technology are shaping the future of social care services. With delegates numbers approaching 1100 people, it is going to be a fabulous opportunity to share the TAPPI insights. The programme (opens new window) includes two TAPPI related sessions on day 1:

  • At 1pm, on the Innovation Stage, hear the latest from the TAPPI project in a session chaired by Roy Sandbach, chair of the TAPPI Steering board, who will be joined by TAPPI partners' representatives.
  • From 4pm, our co-production partners Pete Fleischmann and Jolie Goodman, from Co-production Works, along with some of our co-production champion, will facilitate a Knowledge & Networking session entitles ‘A blessing and a curse? - Co-producing the introduction of assistive technology in later life housing schemes’.

In the buildup to ITEC2023 (opens new window), TSA caught up with Gary Baillie, BR24 Manager at Bield Housing & Care - our Scottish TAPPI testbed - about what he's most looking forward to at this year's Conference and his views on the benefits of being a TSA member: A Q&A with Gary Baillie from Bield Housing & Care (opens new window)

Updates from our Testbeds:

Last week saw the official introduction of the TAPPI project to our Welsh testbed Pobl’s residents living at Llys Y Werin, Pobl Group’s Extra Care service in Gorseinon. It was an opportunity for everyone to talk about technology, it’s uses and how it could help in the day to day life at the service. Read more about it (opens new window).

The event sparked further inspiration for Platform's TAPPI project, with more exciting opportunity for learning to come at next week's ITEC Conference (opens new window). Pictured are some of the team experiencing training2care's Virtual Dementia Tour, showing them what life is like for their residents with dementia.

Our Scottish testbed Bield are hurtling towards the tenant “Early Access” event at their digital hub demonstration site next week (Friday, 31st March). The Programme Board met earlier this week to approve the programme for the event. Most of the furniture has now been delivered and next week they will be finalising the space, adding decorations to make it seem more homely and (arguably most importantly!) installing the technology. In addition to this, the Project Lead for TAPPI will meet with the development managers at the sites where they will be running the Proactive Telecare Trial to finalise the list of participants they will be requesting to join.
