The Housing LIN is recruiting a Research Officer!
The Housing LIN is looking for a Research Officer with qualitative research experience to join our consultancy and research team on a fixed-term basis.
The Housing LIN is a network of more than 15,000 housing, health and social care professionals across England, Wales and Scotland. We connect people, share evidence and promote innovation, while our consultancy and research team works with local authorities, housing providers and other organisations to develop strategies and practical solutions that improve housing, care and support.
Research Officer
- Location: Hybrid working, with access to our Bristol office and home working
- Hours: Full time, 35 hours a week
- Salary: £26,000 per annum
- Contract: Fixed term to 31 March 2027, with possible extension
- Start date: As soon as possible, and no later than mid-October
- Travel: Regular travel across England will be required, with reasonable travel expenses paid
This is an opportunity to undertake qualitative research directly with people with a wide range of lived experience and help ensure their experiences and views are reflected in our work.
The role will have a particular focus on supporting our work with local authorities on supported housing needs assessments and strategies, including work associated with the Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act 2023.
You will organise and undertake interviews, focus groups, workshops and other engagement with people who may have experience of learning disabilities, mental health needs, homelessness, domestic abuse, substance use and other housing and support needs. You will analyse the evidence gathered, identify key themes and work with colleagues to bring together qualitative and quantitative findings.
We are looking for someone with experience of qualitative research and engaging sensitively and empathetically with people with lived experience. You will need good analytical, writing and organisational skills, an understanding of ethical research practice, and the confidence to work independently while being part of a supportive small team.
Experience of research relating to supported housing, homelessness, social care or related areas would be an advantage, but is not essential.
