HLINks Weekly: Housing, Health, and Social Care Latest News

15 September 2025

Welcome back to this week's Housing LIN newsletter, HLINks, featuring the latest news, resources, policy updates, and thought leadership across housing, health, and social care.

Last week marked Accessible Homes Week, and we were proud to support Habinteg’s campaign to highlight how accessible homes can transform wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.

September is also World Alzheimer’s Month, another vital reminder of the role that housing plays in enabling people with dementia to live well. Explore our dedicated Housing and Dementia webpages for resources, research and good practice.

This week's edition highlights:

  • Fresh insights from Habinteg’s forecast for accessible homes 2025 and a new Housing LIN blog on Gloucestershire’s adoption of the Accessible Housing Register system.

  • Updates on thought leadership, including the Future Leaders Programme, a new book on collaborative housing in Europe, and research into the intersections of age, place, disability, and stigma.

  • A new strategic partnership between Everon Group and Howz to advance preventative care in social housing and assisted living.

Whether you are looking to learn, lead or connect, we trust you will find something in this issue to inform and inspire your work.

Thank you for joining us each week and being part of our community.

Call for evidence from APPG Inquiry into Creating Intergenerational Communities

APPG Inquiry image sml

Earlier this year, the APPG on Housing and Care for Older People launched an Inquiry into ‘Creating Intergenerational Communities,’ co-chaired by Lord Best and Anna Dixon MP. Three sessions have so far gathered insights from practitioners and residents.

Now at its mid-point, the Inquiry is calling for evidence from those involved in or living in intergenerational communities. Submissions should cover design features, benefits, challenges, and lessons learned to inform practical recommendations for policymakers, developers, and housing providers.

Please email your evidence to research@housinglin.org.uk by Friday, 17 October 2025.
