Housing LIN delighted to join inspiring 2nd Inclusive Living Alliance conference

The Housing LIN was delighted to attend the 2nd Inclusive Living Alliance conference last week at the University of Stirling on the Intersectional Stigma of Place-Based Ageing (ISPA) project.

We are a non-academic partner on this 5-yest ESRC funded project and also proud to host the ISPA project microsite on our website.

Appleby Blue wins the overall Almshouse Association Award for 2024

Our Chief Executive, Jeremy Porteus, was honoured to be a keynote speaker at the Almshouse Association Members Day conference in Westminster last Thursday.

In his presentation, he highlighted the social value and financial benefits of high-quality housing for older people, drawing on Housing LIN research into the vital role almshouses play within local health and care systems.

HAPPI Hour Webinar - Sustaining Almshouses for the 21st Century

This HAPPI Hour, in partnership with The Almshouse Association, explored the evolving role of almshouses as enduring ‘anchor institutions’ and future models for sustainable, affordable housing.

It featured innovative Cambridgeshire schemes, including Girton Town Charity’s award-winning Dovehouse Court and More’s Meadow in Great Shelford.

Housing LIN Case Study 175: Hazelmead, Bridport Cohousing: More affordable, more sustainable and more neighbourly homes for Dorset

This new Housing LIN Case Study (No. 175), written by Sam Goss, Founding Director at Barefoot Architects, shares the story of Hazelmead, Bridport Cohousing – the UK’s largest cohousing development.

Located in Dorset, this award-winning community of 53 affordable homes demonstrates how housing can be reimagined to respond to today’s urgent crises of affordability, climate, and loneliness. 

Supporting Learning Disability Week: The importance of inclusive housing

Last week was Learning Disability Awareness Week (16–20 June 2025), and we proudly stand alongside individuals with a learning disability to raise awareness and champion greater inclusion.

With this year’s theme focused on “Do you see me?”, we are reminded how vital it is to ensure people with a learning disability are seen, heard and supported, especially when it comes to housing.
