HLINks Weekly: Housing, Health, and Social Care Latest News

Monday 4 December 2023

Before we dive into this week's newsletter, our Chief Executive, Jeremy Porteus, has said:

"I am saddened to learn of John Sneddon's death. He championed housing with care and understood how the complexity of the planning system could work in favour of extra care housing. This helped ensure that some of the earliest Department of Health-funded schemes got off the ground.

He was also generous in sharing his knowledge and expertise about planning with the Housing LIN: writing guest blogs, speaking at our events and sponsoring our first planning portal. He will be sorely missed by us and the sector at large."

Here's what you can expect in today's newsletter:

  1. News Highlights: Including Manchester's newly launched five-year plan for Age-Friendly Manchester, building on the foundations of age-friendly work ongoing in the city.

  2. Resource Roundup: Read the National Housing Federation's new report examining the scale and impact of renting privately for older renters in particular.
