Delivering More Homes for Wales

In July 2013, Carl Sargeant, the Minister for Housing and Regeneration, established the Housing Supply Task Force to give advice to the Welsh Government on how to increase housing supply and increase the jobs and growth delivered by home building, in particular, looking at the direct development by local authorities; open market housing development; and affordable housing development.

The Task Force reported back in January 2014, making a number of recommendations of action intended to increase the supply of affordable and market housing. These are currently under consideration by the Welsh Government.

It is interesting to note that the emphasis is predominantly around mainstream housing and there no mention of specialist housing. However, is there scope to include non-mainstream housing representation in the proposed delivery group to champion 'specialist' housing in Wales in future?
