Welcome to TAPPI Cast, our weekly update on the 'Technology for our Ageing Population: Panel for Innovation' (TAPPI) project which aims to improve the way technology is used in housing and care for older people. Includes updates from our 6 Testbeds, Resources and Events of interest.
As we enter the final weeks of the TAPPI project, this month’s edition of TSA's Industry Magazine, TEC Voice (opens new window), reflects on the awareness TAPPI partners’ – including testbeds’ staff and residents/tenants – have generated over the past 18 months, and provide a selection of press pieces published throughout the programme.
Updates from our Testbeds:
This week WIFI was installed at Brookside House Communal Lounge (Our Sheltered Housing Cohort). Residents at Brookside will now be able to have free access to the internet when they go to the common room. A small step towards helping to reduce digital inequalities.
We have been working closely with the TSA and a Special Interest Group to explore standards for tech integration and the importance/impact on customer outcomes.
Bield will feature a case study from a tenant’s point of view which will be included in the TEC Action Alliance (opens new window) paper.
Our tenants are really embracing using their GPS tracker. The sense of freedom at the same time sense of security is really enhancing their lives. Helping them to live a more proactive life in the community.

A recipe for co-production (opens new window)
Published this week by WM-ADASS, ‘A recipe for co-production’ has been developed by the West Midlands Co-production Advisory Group. It provides a set of prompts to help councils take further their commitment to co-production.
