Information, Advice & Brokerage: Shaping the Future, Gearing Up & Seeing the Benefits

A new Guide published Think Local Act Personal will help councils meet the April 2015 deadline to improve the information and advice provision about support services available in their local communities - a requirement under the new Care Act.

The Guide comes in three parts: The first looks at the exact Care Act requirements and some of the strategies needed to meet those changes; the second sets out what has been tried and learned across England; and the final one looks at how to measure success. There is recognition that access to information and advice is crucial to supporting people at home; helping people understand what support can be made available at home, for example, as an alternative to residential care.
