The research concludes that mixed tenure Extra Care accommodation is the answer to a nationwide social care crisis, providing residents with a range of social and health care services.

This type of accommodation has been shown to better meet the needs of the elderly and vulnerable, whilst also reducing the occupation of hospital beds by people and cutting the cost to local authorities and other organisations.
