Description of Scheme

Trinidad Extra Care Village will be for adults aged 18+ years who are assessed as vulnerable with a care and support need and or a housing need. The scheme will enjoy having a mixed community that can support adults with a variety of needs and will be client group neutral. It will support older people, people with memory loss and dementia, learning disability, physical disability etc.

Designed on HAPPI principles, fabric first design with renewable energy features to achieve BREEAM excellent for energy. The scheme will meet Secure by Design criteria. In addition, it will be sympathetic to dementia friendly best practice.

The scheme will have a bistro restaurant and a hair salon open to residents and the wider community. The plan is also for clinical and therapy space in partnership with the CCG. There will be joint functions and activities open to the wider community.

Where Is It?

This scheme will be located in Poole, a large coastal town and seaport in the county of Dorset, on the south coast of England. It will be built on an existing council owned sheltered housing scheme of 90 units built between 1945 and 1964 in an urban area.
