Description of Scheme

Rita Hunt Court consists of 40 two-bedroom self-contained apartments available to rent from East Riding of Yorkshire Council. Offering varying levels of care and support to residents. This extra care housing scheme is designed to help older and disabled people to live independently.

The building which has three storey's, landscaping and fixed security fencing on the perimeter and of traditional brickwork construction, all to achieve a BREEAM Very Good standard.

The scheme has been called Rita Hunt Court after the late Rita Hunt who was a strong advocate for extra care housing and promoting independent living for older and disabled adults in the East Riding. A trust fund has been set up by Rita's family to support social activities for residents living at the scheme.

This development not only provides a modern, spacious and affordable housing but also employment and training opportunities for the local area.

Care Services

A 24/7 care team is based on site providing around the clock care and support to residents. This will range from something simple as making someone a meal or assisting them to access the community, through to helping with more complex issues such as personal care, hoisting and assistance with medication.
