Lark Hill was built on the largest site still owned by the City, it was in direct response to an aging population in Clifton. The scheme forms part of the commitment in the Older Person's Accommodation Strategy 2007-2017 in providing alternative housing choices for older people

Where Is It?

The Clifton estate was built in the late 1950's as an extension to the City. The estate is laid out mainly in traditional post war style comprising mainly of family housing built on large plots. There is a well established infrastructure with a range of shops, services and good transport links.

Relevant Local Strategy

The development of the Village is part of the long term strategy in providing more extra care accommodation in Nottingham. The opening of the Village will assist in spreading the understanding of what is extra care to members of the public and will demonstrate this alternative housing choice for older people.

  • Local Authority targets, the Council Plan and Manifesto Pledge

The Council's Housing Strategy 2008-2011 outlines the Council's commitment to develop more extra care housing in Nottingham - 300 additional units by 2014.

Nottingham City Council will work in partnership with a variety of developers and services provides in delivering extra care housing according to the needs and aspirations of its citizens
