We are pleased to welcome Hanover as a sponsor of Housing LIN Scotland

Housing LIN is thrilled to announce Hanover as our new sponsor of Housing LIN Scotland, marking an exciting step forward in the commitment to advancing innovative housing and care solutions for older people across Scotland.

Hanover has been a leading provider of housing and services for older people for over 40 years, managing around 5,000 properties across Scotland. Their mission is to enable individuals to live independently, securely, and happily in their own homes for as long as possible through high-quality retirement housing, supported accommodation, and innovative care models tailored to diverse needs.

Angela Currie, Chief Executive of Hanover, said:

“We are delighted to join as a sponsor of Housing LIN Scotland. This partnership strengthens our ability to collaborate with like-minded organisations, share best practices, and drive innovation in housing, health and social care. We look forward to working with Housing LIN to shape a future where older people and those with long-term health needs can thrive in their communities.”

Through this partnership, Hanover will engage in Housing LIN’s initiatives, including HAPPI Hour webinars and the Inspirational Achievements series, to showcase our innovative approaches to housing and care. The first of these is Housing LIN Scotland presents… on Tuesday, 25 November 2025 (4pm-5pm). Registrations are now open.

Jeremy was delighted to attend Hanover Scotland’s Board Strategy Session on 29 October 2025, hosted by Hanover Housing Association in Edinburgh. The session included a progress update on Year 3 of their delivery plan, board member discussions, and a presentation by Jeremy on Housing for Older People – Lessons from England, in which he highlighted key findings from the Older People’s Housing Taskforce report, Our Future Homes: Housing that Promotes Wellbeing and Community for an Ageing Population.

Jeremy Porteus, CEO of Housing LIN, commented:

“It was a real pleasure to speak at Hanover Scotland Housing Association’s Board Strategy Away Day this week, which also marked them becoming the latest member of Housing LIN Scotland.

I was invited to present the key findings and recommendations from last year’s English Older People’s Housing Taskforce report, share its key learning points, and highlight recent innovations and developments in the retirement housing sector that could help shape Hanover’s strategic vision for the future.

We also took the opportunity to celebrate the recent Stirling Prize success of Appleby Blue and explore with Board members how we can continue to raise the bar for high-quality housing for older people in Scotland.”
