This week’s HLINks: 13 – 17 June 2022

Jeremy Porteus

Welcome back to #Jeremytalks and our must-read weekly bulletin HLINks.

This week, we drew attention to a range of resources and tools hosted on the Housing LIN ‘Combating loneliness and reducing social isolation’ webpages in support of Loneliness Awareness Week, hosted by Marmalade Trust, to help reduce the stigma of loneliness and encourage people to talk more openly about it.

We also shared a new report by Foundations, produced in partnership with Habinteg and Anchor Hanover with support from Taylor Wimpey, that follows the publication of the Independent Review of DFG in 2018 (opens new window) and provides guidance on delivering better home adaptations in social housing.

In addition, Smplicare, a software startup based in Edinburgh, is conducting one of the largest studies ever involving wearables and older people to develop AI that predicts the risk of falls, funded by UKRI. So if you’re part of an innovative assisted living or housing association that supports older people to live independently, find out more here.
