Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act: Guidance to local authorities regarding supported housing strategies

The Government has now issued guidance to local authorities in England regarding the duties in the SHROA to undertake an assessment of the need for supported housing in their area and to produce a 5 year supported housing plan or strategy with their partners that sets out how this need will be met.

The expectation is that local authorities will undertake this work by 31st March 2027.

For further information on the act, visit the SHROA dedicated pages of our website.

From our work with local authorities, we know that many of them have already been undertaking this work, partly in anticipation of the new duties under SHROA but also because it makes good business sense to have a robust local evidence base to use to work with providers and other partners to deliver a range of supported housing and accommodation.

If you would like to speak with our team about how we can help your organisation to undertake a supported housing needs assessment and associated plan, please get in touch for a no obligation conversation.
