New guest blog explores building community through senior cohousing
We are pleased to share this new Housing LIN guest blog written by Paul Sedgwick, Member of Still Green Cohousing, who shares how senior cohousing can create supportive, self-managed communities where neighbourliness helps people age well.
It explores the vision behind Still Green Cohousing in Wolverton, Milton Keynes, where 29 homes are being developed around shared gardens and a Common House. Residents actively shape their community, support one another, embrace sustainable living and prepare positively for later life.
With homes still available, the blog highlights a unique opportunity to join an inclusive, collaborative community built on friendship, shared responsibility and mutual support in older age together with purpose.
If you found this of interest, check out our previous Housing LIN guest blog from back in 2021 by Frances Wright, Head of Community Partnering at TOWN, on "Cohousing plus: Widening the housing choices for people with a learning disability", which references Still Green.
Frances will also be joining us in tomorrow's HAPPI Hour webinar, Showcasing community-led housing projects – designing with community in mind, taking place on Tuesday, 30 June 2026 from 4pm - 5pm.
