New guest blog: Proud to work in Housing

In this Housing LIN guest blog, Andrew Cooper of Sovereign Network Group (SNG) reflects on his experience of supporting the Housing LIN Future Leaders Programme, his pride in a career in housing and the inspiring leadership lessons shared across the programme.

Having worked in housing and communities for nearly 20 years, Andrew shares his personal connection to the sector and reflects on the role housing has played in his own family’s life.

Andrew highlights what makes the Future Leaders Programme distinctive: the opportunity to hear from inspiring sector leaders who share their experiences with humility and openness, and to consider the type of leader each participant wants to become.

He also shares some of his highlights from the programme, including insights from speakers and a visit to Appleby Blue, the award-winning almshouse in Bermondsey designed to encourage connection and wellbeing for residents.

Andrew encourages colleagues considering the programme to seize the opportunity and make the most of working in a sector where they can make a difference to people’s lives every day.
