The National Institute for Health and Care Research Public Health Research Programme (NIHR PHRP) has announced a two-stage call for bids to undertake research on housing, place and the built environment for an ageing population.

With references to the research recommendations listed in the Older People’s Housing Taskforce report and to the Housing LIN-led, Vivensa Foundation-funded, SHAPE project, the NIHR PHRP is looking to fund research into the health and health inequality effects of housing, and the physical and social aspects of place, on older people’s health, including mental health.

The NIHR PHRP will be holding a webinar to explain the process on 9 June – see link below for details about this and the call.

The deadline for the first stage outline application is 8 December 2026.

If you are thinking about submitting an outline bid and would like to explore involving the Housing LIN as a non-academic partner, get in touch at info@housinglin.org.uk (opens new window) - we look forward to hearing from you.
