New Housing LIN Case Study on affordable homes for an older ethnically diverse community

Written by Harry Randhawa, Director at Triangle Architects, this latest Housing LIN Case Study explores the creation of Rupali Court, Housing 21's flagship cohousing scheme for older people in Birmingham's diverse Lozells community. Completed in 2026, the development demonstrates how collaborative design can support independent living and enable residents to age well together.

Attending the launch earlier this month, Harry said:

"It was a pleasure to attend the official opening of Rupali Court earlier this month.  As we gathered and chatted in the Common House, the pride residents felt in their scheme and their homes was unmistakable. The strong sense of community and achievement was evident through the day and made it a truly memorable occasion.
