New Future Leaders blog sheds light on personal growth, imposter syndrome and redefining leadership in housing

With just two weeks remaining until the application deadline for the 2026/27 Future Leaders Programme, we are pleased to share a new Housing LIN guest blog. In it, Michaela Gibbons, Area Service Manager – RCT, Codi Group, reflects on her experience completing the Programme and her career journey in housing, which began unexpectedly after studying health and social care and later choosing to pursue a housing degree.

She describes progression across extra care and supported housing, her new service manager role, and initial imposter syndrome. The programme challenged expectations of leadership, highlighting diverse styles, honesty, learning from peers, and the importance of values, people and resilience.
