Housing LIN supports Get Online Week 2025!
Housing LIN is proud to support Get Online Week (20–26 October 2025), the UK’s largest digital inclusion campaign, led by the Good Things Foundation. The initiative helps people discover the benefits of being online and builds confidence in using digital tools, supporting those who are at risk of being left behind.
Access to technology is increasingly important in housing and care. From booking services to staying in touch with friends and family, digital skills can enhance wellbeing, independence, and social connection for residents.
Housing LIN promotes the meaningful use of technology through projects like TAPPI (Technology for our Ageing Population: Panel for Innovation). Delivered with the TEC Services Association and funded by the Dunhill Medical Trust (now Vivensa Foundation), TAPPI equips residents and partners with knowledge and tools to improve technology use for independent living. Its TAPPI Principles, co-produced with residents and stakeholders, guide how technology can achieve better outcomes. More details are available here (opens new window).
In addition, new research, led by the Housing LIN in partnership with Clarion Futures, aims to evaluate how low-cost technology can help reduce social isolation and loneliness among older residents living in social housing. Supported by the Hallmark Foundation and involving partners Yokeru and Alertacall, the project is testing prototype technologies within Clarion’s Live Smart Services. The evaluation will assess the impact of these technologies on residents’ wellbeing, their potential uptake, and residents’ willingness to pay for such solutions as part of their service charge, with a view to scaling successful approaches across the wider social housing sector.
By supporting Get Online Week, Housing LIN reinforces its commitment to digital inclusion, helping people confidently access online opportunities that improve independence, safety, and social connection.
