Overview

This webinar saw the soft launch of the SHAPE (Suitable Housing for an Ageing Population Evidence) Exchange, the Housing LIN’s ground-breaking five-year programme funded by our strategic partner, the Vivensa Foundation.

SHAPE builds on the HAPPI and TAPPI initiatives to promote more inclusive, care-ready home design, age-friendly communities, and the improvement of existing housing, whether through adaptation or the use of technology, to support independent living, as highlighted in the Older People’s Housing Taskforce report.

Building on its 10 core themes and accompanying recommendations, the SHAPE Exchange aims to strengthen sector leadership across housing, health and social care for older people in the UK by utilising the latest data, evidence-based tools and resources, innovation labs, leadership development and knowledge exchange.

In this session, we hear from the programme’s funder - the Vivensa Foundation - and three guest speakers, who explore SHAPE’s initial core themes (care-ready housing, intergenerational living, and technology and adaptations), highlighting why these areas are critical to shaping our future homes and communities.
