Today marks the launch of the Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Action Week, a national campaign to encourage people to ‘act on dementia’. This year’s campaign takes place 16 – 22 May, and the official theme is diagnosis. That’s why, in support of this year’s theme, the Housing LIN would like to draw attention to a selection of resources about dementia-friendly housing.

Appello launched a new guide in an ongoing series focused on managing the transition to digital telecare. The guide covers when to engage your customers and how your aims with this will change at different stages of the project.

The Housing LIN was pleased to work alongside Kirklees Council on the ‘The Older People from Ethnic Minorities (OPEM) in Kirklees: Housing Needs and Preferences Study’ that revealed how preferences in Kirklees’ ageing ethnic minority population affects housing (and housing related support) needs across the district. 

New research, conducted in collaboration between ASH and the Housing LIN, outlines the case for reducing rates of smoking in the social housing sector as part of social landlords’ health and wellbeing activity and the action needed to achieve this.

Today marks the launch of Mental Health Awareness Week, the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health. The week's theme, which is hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, is ‘Loneliness’.
