The NHS Outcomes Framework 2013/14

Describes outcomes and indicators across five domains of care that will be used to assess national progress, hold the NHS Commissioning Board to account and encourage quality improvement and outcome measurement at local level. The domains are:

• Preventing people from dying prematurely
• Enhancing quality of life for people with long term conditions
• Helping people to recover from episodes of ill health or following injury
• Ensuring that people have a positive experience of care
• Treating and caring for people in a safe environment and protecting them form avoidable harm

It updates the 2012/13 Framework
