The Amar Bari project reaches out to professional stakeholders

The Amar Bari project team, funded by The Dunhill Medical Trust and comprised of The Open University, Bangla Housing Association, and the Housing LIN, was delighted to host an inaugural Zoom meeting last week.

This meeting marked the first occasion where around 20 professionals and policymakers with a keen interest in housing, ageing, planning, design, and related fields came together to consider current and future plans for the ‘probin’ community within the London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets, Newham, Hackney and Redbridge and beyond.

Chaired by the Housing LIN’s Jeremy Porteus, we gained valuable insights into which aspects of our project findings could be of interest/use to various stakeholders, and how our research can be most impactful.

We will continue to engage with the group as the project progresses, and over the next few months, we will draw together a Professional Advisory Group to work with us, running alongside our established community group, the Bangla Research Advisory Group, to help inform relevant policy and strategy formation, new housing provision and service developments.
