TAPPI Phase 2 - Introducing Southend Care

Southend Care Logo

Southend Care is a social care company operating in Southend-on-Sea established in 2017, and Southend City Council owns us. We provide care and support services to the community, including Supported Housing, Extra Care and Residential Assessment Services. We serve some of the most vulnerable people in our community, including older people and people with learning disabilities.

We do this to provide the highest possible standard of person-centred care and support, which enhances peoples’ lives. We focus on delivering outcomes that improve or maintain a person’s independence.

Why do you want to be a part of TAPPI?

We want to test and learn from the insights that our technology can bring to bear. TAPPI offers us a golden opportunity to do this and to input into a national programme of work that includes other testbeds.

What impact do you hope to have?

We hope TAPPI makes a real difference in the lives of the people we support and that this helps shape our strategy for becoming a technology-enabled company. In addition, we hope that our learning can result in other organisations adopting similar approaches and technology. The knowledge that we have played a role in enabling this is exciting.

What are you most looking forward to over the next 12 - 15 months, as one of the six TAPPI2 locality testbeds?

We look forward to working with Amba, Southend City Council and tenants to deliver technology-augmented care. In addition, we are excited to work with our partners to co-produce the project's planning and implementation, evaluate its impact, and plan further how the insights gained can support a broader rollout across our services.
