Housing options for older people in a reimagined housing system: a case study from England

This study by the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at the University of Sheffield, and the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research at Sheffield Hallam University, explores older people’s choice between staying put and making do, or moving to specialist housing or residential care.

It takes a case study approach to examine the gap between the ambitions of policy and realities of provision at the local level, relating this to the particular state practices and market mechanisms to extend housing choices for older people.
