Social Isolation in London

This Octavia commissioned report presents findings from Ipsos MORI research, carried out by 467 adults aged 15 and over in Greater London through September and October 2017.

Participants were asked about their own experiences of loneliness, with over one-quarter of participants reporting that they often or some of the time lack companionship (29%), feel left out (27%) or feel isolated from others (32%) and over half report ever feeling each of these. When asked about feeling in tune with others, 18% reported they never or hardly ever feel in tune with others.
