Older Men at the Margins: how men experience and combat loneliness and social isolation in later life

This two year study by the University of Bristol, supported by Age UK, engaged with older men who’ve felt lonely or isolated in order to find out how they dealt with it, and what kind of support helped them to feel less lonely.

The study focused on ‘seldom-heard’ groups of men and explored the formal and informal ways they sought to stay connected with others and feel less lonely – in particular the role of group activities. More about the project and the accompanying films can be found through the link below.
