Match Me – What works for adapted social housing lettings?

Match Me Cover

Match Me was an 18-month action research project into the allocation of adapted and accessibly designed social housing and what enhanced independent living for disabled people.

Carried out by Horizon, Housing Options Scotland and the University of Stirling and supported by DRILL and The Big Lottery, it found at an operational level that while housing providers are proactive in reviewing their policies and practice, there is a still a gap between landlords’ goals and disabled applicant’s experiences in accessing social housing. And, at a strategic level, calls included for a national strategy on accessible housing in Scotland, and clear and updated guidance for local authorities on the standards and delivery of accessible housing.
