Housing and technology fund for people with learning disabilities
In September 2016, the Department of Health (DH) announced a Capital Fund for Housing and Technology for People with Learning Disabilities. The DH invited councils across England to bid for a portion of a £25m (over 2 years) capital fund to use for various housing projects. The aim was to improve the quality of life of people with learning disabilities - giving them independence, and helping them feel more a part of the community. On 20 December 2016, the DH announced the 52 successful local authority projects. They focus on adapting existing housing, creating new accommodation and giving people support so they have more independence and choice. A breakdown of the amount by local authority is provided in the link below.
