Published by DH in July, with a closing date for responses of 15th October, 'New Horizons: towards a shared vision for mental health - consultation' sets out ideas for achieving good mental health, targeting the causes of mental illness and support for the local development of higher quality more personalised services. It explores the prevention of mental illness and earlier intervention when things go wrong. It also looks at how services can become more innovative and work more effectively together, how to make it easier for people to get the right help and reduce the stigma associated with poor mental health.
