Home Adaptations in Social Housing Charter
Foundations, the national body for Home Improvement Agencies have launched the Home Adaptations in Social Housing Charter that sets out a shared commitment between local authorities and housing associations to make home adaptations, such as the Disabled Facilities Grants process, faster, clearer and fairer for older and disabled tenants.
The Charter says that tenants should not have to navigate a confusing DFG system simply because more than one organisation is involved. It calls for landlords and local authorities to work together early, share the right information, agree practical routes for consent and make better use of adapted homes once they exist.
