Advantages and disadvantages of different models of Housing with Care schemes for people living with dementia

Obtaining evidence of the pros and cons of different models of housing with care for people with dementia is a top priority for the Housing and Dementia Research Consortium (HDRC).

This report is based on the 2015 HDRC annual workshop which focused on this topic. The evidence base is still quite limited.

The report combines information from a number of relevant presentations, some based on research, with the experience of event participants to suggest some answers to this question.

Those taking part were all involved in some way with housing with care for people with dementia thereby bringing together a good cross-section of expertise and perspectives.

The report may be of value to commissioners and providers trying to decide what approach to pursue when planning housing with care for people living with dementia.
