genHOME project

As you will be aware, there is a significant gap in the knowledge and evidence base to demonstrate the health and well-being impact of housing adaptations and home design. The genHOME project is addressing this by building an “evidence-based bridge.” The purpose of the bridge is to connect the gaps in our current knowledge and evidence base, to the researcher who have the skills, knowledge, and passion to undertake this challenging work.
Work on the genHOME bridge has already begun. We are growing a database of current evidence and research in this field of practice, which is helping to highlight the gaps in our knowledge base. This database is now available on the College of Occupational Therapy website. In addition to this, 2016 will see the inaugural genHOME symposium, bringing together an international group of experts in this interdisciplinary field of practice.
