Housing LIN is delighted to announce HCR Law (opens new window) as our latest partner and a headline sponsor of our Summits early next year. This exciting partnership builds on a shared vision to drive forward more progressive housing and care solutions for an ageing population.

Louise Drew, Partner at HCR Law, said:

"Housing LIN's work is instrumental in providing innovative housing solutions that promote wellbeing and independence for older and vulnerable communities. We're delighted to partner with an organisation whose values align closely with our own, and we look forward to working together to create safe, supportive environments for those who need them most."

Jeremy Porteus, CEO of Housing LIN, commented:

“We have quickly forged a great working relationship with HCR Law and look forward to developing our partnership with the team, especially our combined commitment to sector improvement and leadership.”

For example, on 1 October this year, to coincide with International Day of Older Persons, Jeremy Porteus, attended an exclusive Cheltenham event hosted by HCR Law. The roundtable explored the evolving strategy and future of older persons’ housing in England. He was joined by Professor Julienne Meyer CBE, Executive Director of Care for Older People and Chair of the Government’s Older People’s Housing Taskforce, who shared updates since the taskforce report and future perspectives. Discussions focused on the benefits of a new Housing Strategy, integrating healthcare with housing, and empowering older people to shape their communities. Read on here (opens new window)

We were pleased to have HCR Law join our recent HAPPI Hour webinar on the impact of the UK Government’s Supported Housing (Regulatory Oversight) Act. With input from MHCLG and Rochdale Borough Council, we outlined the new duty for local authorities to assess supported housing needs, shared a strong local example, and provided legal insight. HCR Law offers a strong “people-first” approach through its Social Housing and Older & Vulnerable Clients teams. By advising providers, developers and councils, the firm helps deliver well-structured social and affordable housing projects that improve access to safe, suitable and compliant homes for older people.

Their Older & Vulnerable Clients team also provides specialist legal support for the issues many older residents face, from safeguarding and care funding to lasting powers of attorney and help managing finances when capacity is reduced.

Together, these services allow HCR Law to support both the development of quality housing and the long-term rights and well-being of older residents, helping them maintain stability, security and peace of mind.
