The University of Kent is inviting homecare agencies and housing with care schemes across South East England, East Midlands, West Midlands, and Yorkshire and the Humber to take part in an important new research study: DomCare: The Benefits and Costs of Domiciliary Care.

This study aims to provide a deeper understanding of the value of homecare and how it helps people and their families live well, maintain independence, and pursue the activities they enjoy. By collecting new data from care recipients and registered care locations, researchers hope to inform policy decisions, develop guidance on homecare options, and support individuals and families in making informed care choices.

The University of Kent is leading the research as Data Controller, in partnership with Ipsos (Data Processor), along with King’s College London, Skills for Care, the Homecare Association, and the Housing LIN. The study is funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and has received ethical approval from the University of Kent’s School of Social Sciences Staff Review Committee.

Managers of CQC-registered locations providing visiting, live-in, or in-house care services are encouraged to consider participating. If you manage housing with care but not care management, please forward this invitation to the appropriate registered care location.
