The Amar Bari, Amar Jibon project celebrated its successful conclusion with an inspiring end-of-project event
The Amar Bari, Amar Jibon (ABAJ) project marked the successful completion of its three-year research programme with an inspiring end-of-project event on 13 June.
The celebration brought together 22 participants, including members of the Bangla Research Advisory Group (BRAG), co-researchers, transcribers, drama group representatives and project partners to reflect on their shared journey and achievements.
The event provided an opportunity to celebrate the project's impact, share learning and reflect on the research findings and community insights developed through a collaborative co-production approach. A moving drama performance, based on the research findings, powerfully highlighted the housing and health challenges experienced by East London's Bangladeshi elder community, while live illustrations by Sandra Hawgate creatively captured the discussions throughout the day.

The event concluded with presentations recognising the invaluable contributions of BRAG members and the academic team, followed by traditional Bangladeshi food and refreshments, providing an opportunity to celebrate the project's achievements and strengthen connections for future collaboration.
As communications partner for the project, the Housing LIN was delighted to support the dissemination of the research and its findings. Read the final project report and discover more about the Amar Bari, Amar Jibon project here.
