Regenerating extra care housing: Abbeyfield’s Regency Mews showcases HAPPI-inspired design

We’re pleased to share our latest Housing LIN Case Study, spotlighting Abbeyfield York Society’s £6.44m Regency Mews extension – a contemporary extra care scheme delivering 25 new, dementia-friendly apartments, designed in line with HAPPI principles.
Co-authored with Abbeyfield Living Society and Brewster Bye Architects, the case study highlights sustainable, inclusive design and the power of strong community partnerships. Officially opened in April 2025, the scheme promotes independent living, social connection, and future-ready care.
