New report warns Scotland needs over 15000 affordable homes a year

A new report funded by Shelter Scotland, the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations and the Chartered Institute of Housing Scotland reveals Scotland must deliver over 15,000 affordable homes a year in the next Scottish Parliament, including reference to housing for an ageing population, especially in rural areas.

The study, by the Universities of Sheffield, Liverpool and Sheffield Hallam, warns more than 78,000 affordable homes are needed over five years, with urgent demand in the east.
