New home adaptations training courses from the DLF

A range of new courses dealing with housing adaptations has been introduced by the DLF, the charity that specialises in impartial information, advice and training about assistive technology. For Trusted Assessors there is a new blended-delivery course that involves one day of practical hands-on learning along with a range of online modules: Trusted Assessor: Assessing and Adapting the Home is a nationally accredited course available at a range of venues around the UK. Home Adaptations for Professionals offers a choice of five specialist modules and is accredited at Level Five, dedicated one-day modules include kitchen and bathroom design and understanding plans and grants, the level five courses are also available UK-wide.

The DLF has also announced a new online Trusted Assessor course dealing with technology enabled care: Trusted Assessor: Assessing for Telecare Solutions offers fifteen hours of online learning and learners have six months to complete the course.

The charity is also offering free trials of its new prescribing tool DLF ProAssist

Developed jointly with TSA to encourage confident selection of sometimes unfamiliar technology solutions. Described as ‘your professional hub for personalised independent solutions’, the tool offers searches by functional need, provides evidence to support choice and collects clinical observations. Users of ProAssist can produce a variety of reports for use in support of cases they are handling.
