New guide to support dementia-friendly housing released

DHWG Dementia friendly housing guide cover sml

Launched at the Housing LIN Conference in Bristol by Housing 21’s CEO, Bruce Moore, this new Dementia and Housing Working Group (DHWG) guide provides useful information and practical guidance to advise housing organisations, corporate bodies and sector professionals on how housing, its design and supporting services can help improve and maintain the wellbeing of people affected by dementia.

Updating the Dementia Friendly Housing Charter first published in 2017, the guide provides practical advice on planning, design, management and adaptation of housing and related services. It outlines key actions that can improve wellbeing, reduce risks and support people living with dementia, as well as their families and carers.

The resource encourages organisations to strengthen their action plans and commit to delivering dementia-friendly housing approaches across the sector. Professionals are also invited to join the working group.

The Housing LIN is proud to host the DHWG website.
