New guest blog evaluates the impact of a West Yorkshire dementia and housing training pilot

Marking this year's World Alzheimer's Day, we're happy to present a new Housing LIN guest blog from Dr Aisling Flynn, Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at Bournemouth University, who presents findings from her independent evaluation of a dementia and housing training pilot commissioned by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and West Yorkshire Housing Partnership, and delivered by the Alzheimer's Society.

Assessed using the Dementia Knowledge Assessment Scale, participants' average scores rose from around 50% to 59% following the one-day course, with the strongest gains in communication and behaviour. Nearly all respondents agreed the training's learning outcomes had been met, and elements of the programme will feed into the Alzheimer's Society's national training offer.
